Twilight...the obsession continues

Here's the group of lovely ladies that accompanied me to Twilight, which i really liked...I'm not gonna say loved bc obviously the book was way better but i was definately plesantly suprised:) P.S. we each sported a new moon tatoo to the movie on sat. Daniel made me rub it off at church....after i got a few smirks from people in my ward:) oops! p.p.s please pay no attention to the lack of any bicep what so ever. i've forgotten how to get to the gym...do you think Edward would still think i was hot? :)

I need your help!

My oh-so-talented-sis-in-law shot these of us a few weeks ago. All i had to do was choose the location. Despite the rifle shots and getting kicked off some property (for fear that we might steal a tire?...i promise there wasn't a No Tresspassing Sign!), I'm pretty pleased with the results. I bought frames in August and I still have a very blank wall. We're having lots of fam over for the holidays so I kinda wanted to get them hung soon. I'm having a really hard time deciding which family pics to frame. Especially the shots of kolby. Olivia's is easy bc this is the only shot she was still for and not crying or eating...kind of. Also the family shot was kinda tricky since olivia had to be in it:) I need 1 of kolby, 1 of olivia, and 1 family. Which ones would you choose???

Monster Trucks to the Rescue!

This may look like a random pic of monster trucks but actually this is a symbol of diaper freedom!!! This is all it took to get Kolby from diapers to big boy underwear. Ok not really, I had to be sooooo laid back about the whole potty training business so kolby won't freak out and give up. Basically its been a year of watching potty movies, reading potty books, making sticker charts, drinking lots of juiceboxes...you name it we probably half heartedly tried it. I always swore i would never bribe my children with toys. Ha! Then one day kolby went poo in the potty and i bought him a monster truck. Then he went 3 days in a row and I bought him a monster truck, then a week. I was worried he'd be asking for more and more trucks but he never did and then the poo was taken care of. Then he lasted 1 day with dry underwear, then 2 days, then 3. So far he's not demanding more toys its just a part of his life now. We're going on our 3rd week and he refuses to ever wear diapers again. Even at bedtime! And he did awesome on our roadtrip! I'm pretty amazed. So proud of my BIG BOY! Now the mommy training has begun. I actually have to remember to ask him when we're out and about if he needs to go potty. I think the training is harder for me than it was for him.

The past 3 weekends....

yikes i'm so incredibly behind in blogging. On the one hand i suppose its good to be busy doing fun stuff but on the other...now I'm way behind on documenting for my blurb book:) Weekend #1... we played some awesome shuffle board at Tom and Holly's cool Lounge. I remember playing Shuffle board with my grandparents on a life sized slab of concrete. I suppose this version is easier to transport? Weekend #2... we went to a Fall Festival with Holly and Ellie here in the neighborhood, complete with a train ride, donut on a string, face painting, and lots of carnival games. We also took some pretty sweet family pictures the next day (worth a post of their very own). Weekend #3... I decided Kolby needed some special one on one time. He's never been the jealous type until recently, after i balled that perhaps my first born needed more of my attention, Daniel, Kolby, and I took a road trip to Austin for the xc state meet while olivia stayed with Aunt Rosie. We had a blast. Nothin'n like some good ol' bed jumping in a hotel:) Plus, Daniel's athlete got 10th in the state!

"Guess My Age Contest" anyone?

I'm really confused. I recently watched one of my friends photoshop a pic of me and was horrified that of the four of us in the pic i had the most wrinkles of all of them combined and we're all the same age! A few weeks ago I was standing in line to early vote. The lady working there asked if it was my first time. I thought I probably just looked scattered brained or something, afterall I had lost my voters card, but just smiled and said no. She said I didn't look a day over 18. I choked on my laugh as I told her I just celebrated my 26th birthday. A few days ago I was buying some spray paint. The cashier asked for my licesnse. I frantically dug through my "newly-olivia-organized" wallet and finally found it. I was puzzled as to why I had to show my id before i even used a form of payment. She didn't believe i was old enough to buy the spray paint. She didn't even believe it when she saw my id. I had my 2 kids with me too....what kind of person did she think i was? I have an old face. I am the typical frumpy mommy. The only logical conclusions I have come to are... 1. These people are blind 2. I still wear clothes I had in high school so i must look like a really uncool high schooler 3. People judge my age by my chest (although then i might only be 12) Next time I'm at a fair I'm totally playing the "Guess my Age Game". I see a giant pink teddy bear in my future.

Do you have underwear?

Kolby's been awesome at going poo on the potty. Since Olivia has poo issues of her own (i let her sit on the potty while she pushes with all her might), I haven't had to change a poopy diaper in a month! But the peeing is another story. Kolby will go pee about 3 times a day on the potty but i can't figure out how to motivate him to go every time. Then i thought, hey maybe we could buy some new underwear since he's had his other ones for a while. I tell this to kolby and he's very excited. We get to Walmart and the old man greets us. Kolby asks the greeter, "DO you have SPeed Racer underwear?" Greeter, "eh?" Kolby (shouting) "Do YOU have underwear?" Greeter (puzzled) "what?..." I explain that kolby wants to know if Walmart the store, not him personally has underwear. The old man chuckles uncontrollably and is barely able to hand us our cart. I'm not sure which part i found more humurous...my child loudly asking "do you have underwear?" or the fact that the old man never really answered the question.

I've been hearing a lot about this blurbing thing. I was slightly sceptical and mostly just too lazy to try it but I gotta say...I'm completely in love! Its brillant brillant brillant. PLus i got $10 off with their promotional code (holiday2008) so I have last year's pics and journaling all for a an awesome price! Thanks blub. Wanna check it out? Happy Halloween!!!

Halloween was very entertaining this year. Kolby actually enjoyed wearing his costume, unlike last year, and loved saying "trick or treat". Olivia was hillarious waddling after kolby adn her cousin saying "treat. treat". When the buckets got too heavy we tried to offer to help but Olivia screamed at us to leave her candy alone. Afterwards Aunt Holly helped the kiddos makes some yummy sugar cookies. MMMMmmm more sugar!

The Carving of the Pumpkin

I'm sill not entirely sure why we all feel the need to carve a squash and put it on our doorstep each Halloween. I'm sure my brother could tell you the entire bizzare history...some thing about Jack making a deal with the devil and we all make jack-o-lanterns....I don't really know. I just get a kick watching the kids touch the guts and take the lid on and off.

TOFW

Last weekend a bunch of girlies and I went to Time Out for Women. I ate a ton of junk food, went shopping, stayed up late, cried like a baby during some of the inspirational music, and felt spiritually fed by some of the guest speakers. My dad doesn't understand why women like any of the previously mentioned things. That's exactly why it was Time Out for WOMEN! PLus we got these awesome bags:) hee hee:)
