All my bags are packed...

ok not really. not even close. We're leaving tomorrow for Seattle!!! I'm so excited to have our last little hurrah in Sea-town. My parentals decided to move to OR, this summer so daniel and i are taking the kids to see where their momma grew up and so i can quickly go do all the things i wanna do there while i still get free room and board. I made a long list last night but basically i really want to do some quality hiking at Mt Rainier, (no offense Texans but your hikes suck) and i wanna go to Pikes Place Market to show Kolby the fish and perhaps sneek in a Ferry ride:) I still have laundry, cleaning, and packing eagerly awaiting me. Wish me luck! if this post was a complete bore to you perhaps you can get a chuckle or a gag out of this: As i was blow drying my hair this morning i suddenly smelled poo. i glanced over at kolby who was jumping on my bed without his diaper. He told me it was dirty so he took it off. Thus poopy bum prints all over my beige comforter. I thought about yelling, spanking, vomiting, crying....but ended up just throwing the comforter in the wash and dreaming of poo-free days.

Brutal Honesty

i walked through the door at church and was greeted by a 17 yr old with a "um you have something right here" (pointing above my lip) When i explained it was a cold sore she said, "oh are you gonna be alright?" Then every child told me i had an "owie". I taught a lesson on honesty today. Guess i had it coming.

I'm a horrible monstrous beast

i can barely see the keyboard to type this bc of the freakishly large cold sore i have blocking my view. I'll be in hiding the rest of the weekend. If you've never had one don't talk to me and don't pretend like you can't notice it. I know you're lying:)

Confessions of a Mormon Mother

Not to toot my own horn or anything but seriously....look what i did. For those of you who know me well know what a huge accomplishment this is. I baked bread! And no i did not use a bread machine. We're talking, grind your own wheat, knead it, shape it, bake it... the works! Of course i should confess that my mother-in-law was the genius behind it all but i promise to do it all on my own on Sunday. I was really quite pleased for being so domestic until this afternoon when my neighbor made fun of me for duct taping kolby's suit pants since i have no stink'n idea how to hem. So much for being the typical mormon mother!

Happy Father's Day!

Whew I'm a little pooped out after Father's Day. A whole day of serving Daniel, making big meals and watching the kids. Guess I'm a bad wife bc it was definately out of the ordinary. SO glad I wasn't a wife in the 50s! The whole sharing the responsibilities thing works much better around here:) I'm so grateful for my hubby and what an amazing daddy he is! I love it when I walk past the kids rooms and daniel is singing some kind of country song to them. Our home truly is the song "I'm so glad when daddy comes home...." The kids squeal and daniel claps his hands and we all get kisses and hugs! I'm also very grateful for my daddy. He taught me how to e-mail, how to critique NFL games, and how to hold my tongue. (ok, i'm still working on that last one). Happy Father's Day!!!

Fun in the Sun

This week Kolby had his little friend Max over. Since kolby is usually surrounded by girls I think a little male bonding is just what he needed:) They ate Oreos (olivias may or may not be oreos mixed with dirt)... Drank a lot of water.... Blew bubbles... and made a lot of noise:)

Slept like a Baby

...well not really, I didn't wake up every two hours like a baby, I slept wonderfully! After 5 years Daniel and I finally purchased a brand new matress. I'm in complete sleepy heaven. I layed on it for 20 minutes just sighing at how perfectly it cradled me. Too bad my hubby is sleeping on the ground without a pad at scout camp.....i'll just have to sleep comfy enough for the both of us. Sweet Dreams everyone!

Ancore

by popular demand... I apologize to those of you who may be annoyed thinking "what another video? The motherly bias is out of control." You don't have to click on it ok. This is just to entertain a select few who wanted to see more. Enjoy! Also despite what my family thinks, he is saying "and on that farm he...." in the previous video. My child is a freak'n genius and would never mix up lyrics:)

emotional sunday and a little piano man

After giving a talk in church my tears were already easily flowing. But then, you add having Daniel called as executive secretary, thinking of all the time I will be spending alone, hearing specific blessings for our family as he was set apart, getting called as YW secretary myself, and saying goodbye to my little rascals in primary and I was pretty much a reck. Nothing cheers me up more than my kids though. Kolby refused to repeat his "I am a Child of God" version so here's what I caught while I was hiding upstairs and he thought no one was watching....

29 years ago today...

my parents were sealed here. 3 kids, 3 weddings, and 3 grandchildren later...they're still happily married and hate the idea of being apart from each other. Thanks for your wonderful example of what a celestial marriage can be. happy anniversary!

Happy Birthday Mother Dear

And now a special birthday wish for my mama! Guess maturity doesn't come with age:) May you always be young at heart! love ya!!!

Happy Birthday Daddy-O

A little shout out to my ancient father! Happy B-day. Kolby and I practiced singing happy birthday and then after 10 attempts the little buggar wouldn't let me video tape it for your enjoyment. Guess you'll have to wait for it in person.

Curiosity Killed the Cat...

...actually it didn't kill the cat it killed the cat's mother!!! I know what you're thinking, who takes pics of toilet paper rolls? It was the last straw today ok. Olivia is a little busy body cruise'n around emptying trash cans, cupboards, shelves of movies, pots of dirt, and now she's discovered how to unravel the toilet paper (she managed to do all of the above in the first hour she was awake). I swear it wasn't that long ago since kolby was in this stage but I suppose i thought i'd only have to go through this once:) When I say no she turns around and smiles at me and does it anyway. How do you keep your child safe, your things from breaking, your plants alive, your house clean, yourself sane, and yet encourage an environment of discovery (as some stupid child developement book probably says)? If you have a solution I'll give you a million dollars. I think we'll be having a lot of "out of the house" outings this summer. "I'm not that innocent" -had to throw in a little brittany:)

finishing-a-page-turner-blues

Just finished. Loved it, although not as much as Twilight series. Honestly can anyone replace Edward? :) Hate finishing books. Anyone got a good one?

Rejuvenated

ahhhh sigh..... Such a great trip. An awesome historical hotel A delicious breakfast buffet A quiet afternoon by the pool with a book A chance to try things on in the dressing room by myself A movie date after 8:00 A table for two...no high chairs A day to be a kid myself at Sea World A realization that I really could MISS my kids, if given the opportunity:)
