You were blessed...

Here's my beautiful Naomi...
You were blessed to have a strong testimony, a love for the Savior, to listen to your parents, family and teachers.
You were blessed with a strong spirit and to follow the examples of the righteous women you were named after.
You were blessed to strive to do what is right, to enter the temple with a priesthood leader, and to serve others.
You were also blessed to become a great mother and to increase you realtionship with your own mother.
We love you Naomi Kathy!
Too bad for the actual blessing she looked more like this... hee hee. She screamed through the whole blessing but Daniel still managed to give her a beautiful blessing. Grandma Sweetwood Grandma Lawton

One of those weeks

Ever have one of those weeks that is so jammed packed you can hardly catch your breath and yet is so fun you'd do it all again?
That was last week.
Started off with lots of playtime and pool time with my momma the previous week. Mon-Fri
Which led to quite a few baths for some dirty sweaty kids..
really only the shots of Naomi are worth posting:)
Friday night we played Just Dance and Mark and Rosie's and bought our own the next day. We are slightly obsessed.
Mon-Wed rinse and repeat.
Thursday we cleaned the house and Daniel and I got to go on a date! Whoo-hoo.
Friday my mom and I baked out little hearts out, then while we were getting ready to go out to eat the kids decided to create their own "oil spill". In this case they knocked over and entire huge bottle of lighter fluid all over the garage.
After a serious clean up job with Uncle Henry's help we stuffed our faces with fajitas and came home just in time to greet my dad from the airport.
Saturday I threw a "Sweet" party for Naomi's blessing day. My MIL gave me the idea bc she found out that Naomi is Hebrew for sweet. My mom and I made Oreo truffles, mini cheesecakes, rsaspberry brie shells, lemon bars, chocolate-covered strawberries, triple chocolate cookies, and sugar-free jell-o for my super skinny in-laws:) A bunch of family came over that night. We ate treats, played Just Dance and Pictionary Man.
Sunday was the blessing day, which deserves a post all on its own.
I raced from sacrament meeting to my sunday school class, to primary to help kolby with his talk, back to teach my class, to R.S., to family pictures after church, to a 5th Sunday lunch-in (yes our ward still does those), to home to make dinner, got thrown-up on, showered, bathed Naomi, watched a movie and crashed at midnight.
Monday we played in the pool some more, i schooled my fam in croquet, and we enjoyed a super yummy bbq, celebrated my parent's b-days, and said goodbye.

Preschool

We had such a fun year with preschool! The curriculum was super cheap and so user friendly (mother goose time). The moms were so great to work with, and the kids..well just look at them, they're freak'n adoarbale!!! Can't wait til next year!!!!
Too bad Owen was gone for "picture day". Abby took these pictures the last week of school. Trying to get all of them smiling at the camera at the same time must have been some feat! There were so many "out-takes" that made me giggle. Mostly i laugh though bc daniel insisted on having kolby all gussied up in a long sleeve shirt and jeans while its 90 degrees outside and everyone else is in shorts. hee hee. The last two are definatley the best!

1 month

Tried to take some pics of Naomi last friday for her 1 month shots...
they were all out of focus, she cried and then almost scooted herself off the dresser, oops.
She looked at me as if to say,
"mom, you are so crazy and cruel, and really the worst photographer ever...guess i'll just try to suck my thumb until you give up"
p.s. my amazingly talented friend cate made her headband don't you love it!

T-ball Party

Last Tuesday we went to Kolby's T-ball pizza party. He had a dream the night before that he was going to get a trophy and that Daniel was going to lift him on his shoulders...um we may have watched a few too many sport movies:)
When they called his name to get the trophy he totally froze. Why is my child scared to death of smiling in front of his coach? I have no idea! Once he was out of the spotlight his smile came out of hiding:)

Boat Week

I am way behind on posting! Funny how one little tiny person can take up so much time:)
Last week was "boat week". It was fairly low key but still fun!
The inspiration?
Kolby's new awesome boats from Ona for his "work-in-progress" nautical room.

The art work...lovn' kolby's sailboats

Last Tuesday i googled how to make paper boats then let them play with them in the tub.
(p.s. my sweet friend Cindi did olivia's hair...isn't it awesome?!)
Wednesday we discussed how the wind pushes the sails to make the boats move...then we experimented with our own "sails" (kites obviously).
We read books about sailboats, tug boats, submarines, and cruise ships.
For our culminating activity we filled up the pool and had boat races and created our own storms:)
Naomi just chiln' and rockn' in her own boat.
Of course the pool also was used to play "diving girls" (we watched Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken this week) They pretended to jump into the pool with their horses but were careful not to hurt their eyes...hee hee.

Mia

Here's my beautiful niece on her baptism day. We love you Mia!
(as a side note my kids must have really enjoyed the baptism bc the very next day they were playing "baptism" in the pool in the backyard. Not sure if it was cute or blasphemous...it wasn't the first time they've pretended to be John the Baptist and Jesus, or Mary and Joseph, or yes even Jesus on the cross...i usually can't hide my smile and then i tell them to pretend to be someone else:)

Funny Bunny

Kolby put these two bunnies in the carseat with Naomi...her expressions make me giggle everytime!

Sisters

Let the matchy-matchy-ness begin:)
