"I want Jesus"

This is what Olivia says as we say its time to leave the temple.
We had one of those marathon Saturdays today. My piano students had their recital this morning. I got home grabbed some lunch then we headed off to see one of Daniel's student's Senior Recital (which was amazing) then we changed our clothes, headed over to the temple to let the kids see "jesus's house" and attended a wedding reception. My feet are killing me! Even though it was a bit crazy to attend so many events with no naps or stops at home, (we had clothes and shoes and make-up packed in the trunk), it was kinda nice to get out of the house and spend all day together.
And this one is of kolby staring at the angel Moroni. Tonight when we read scriptures we learned about the Moroni visiting Joseph Smith. Kolby immediately responded, " I saw him today. He was in the sky, on the temple". So apparently lessons like don't write on the wall go in one ear and out the other but the gospel seems to stick. I suppose there is hope afterall.

Spring Recital

Look how cute these guys are! Oh ya they played beautifully too. I love love love teaching piano!

Bring on the Sunshine!

Friday I kidnapped my niece and we hung out at the splash-pad basically all day long. The kids could run around freely. I had no messes to clean up. There was no pbs, no fighting, no crying....and most importantly no coloring on walls:) Not mention I got some sun on my pasty little self too. That evening Daniel and I went to the temple and afterwards enjoyed a terrific cookies n' cream milkshake. So yummy!

The Writing on the Wall

When Kolby was just under 2 yrs old he found Daniel's shoe polish and decided to stamp our walls with black circles. I figured he was so young and didn't know any better. I explained that we don't color the walls and i had him help me clean it up.
Nearly 2 years later I'm realizing that my little "no-coloring-the-walls" lesson had a rather short shelf life.
2 days ago he decided to color his walls and toys with a red crayon. I sat down and talked with him and told him that we only color paper. I had him help me scrub the walls and his toys....still working on the walls. I was upset but tried to remember that they are just walls.
Yesterday while he was "napping" in the 10 minutes that i was not sitting at the computer, he snuck into the playroom, climbed the desk to find a black dry-erase marker and decorated the playroom closet and my toy cubbies.
I'm going crazy! Didn't i just have this talk with him yesterday?! I had him help me scrub, put him in his room and I've tried to lock up as many writing utensils that I can find. I can repaint and scrub walls but I can't stand the fact that my child is saying that he will never do it again and then doing it less than 24 hrs later. grrrrrr.

Snip snip

We finally bit the bullet and buzzed kolby's hair for summer. It started seeming too cruel to watch him sweat everytime he stepped outside. Here's to a cooler summer! before giggling during
checking himself out
after. what a stud!

Land of the Dull drums

Daniel was out of town all weekend so I was bored out of my brains. Even with all my boredom i couldn't seem to get the energy to actually do anything. After going without milk all week i finally ventured out to the grocery store on Sat. My kids squealed with delight. We've already downed a gallon. Friday was spent taking Olivia for her 2 yr check-up. Here's the stats: weight: 25lbs 25-50% height: 31 1/8 5% BMI: 18-1 85-90% She got two shots and a finger prick. There was a 7yr old waiting at the lab with us. His mom told him how brave he was. He told me that he screamed like a girl. Guess no one likes shots! Olivia kept saying "legs hurt!" I felt so bad for her that afterwards i took the kids to Chic-fil-a and rented Hotel for Dogs....that seemed to cheer her right up. We're glad Daniel is home and that he has tomorrow off. I'm sure we can come up with a few more interesting things to do with our lives:)

OH Happy Day!

Saturday I came home from a economic seminar (which was amazing) to find Daniel and the kiddos hiding upstairs and snickering. This is a common occurance in our home so i thought nothing of it really. Then they told me there was a suprise. I walked in the downstairs bedroom which was completely covered with at least 10 loads of unfolded laundry that morning to find the room completely devoid of any form of laundry. i was shocked! Not only was it folded but also hung and put away. This has never ever happened! I was speechless. I think I may have been happier than i was on my wedding day:) What a great hubby i have. This is just a super cute pic of the kiddos with ellie but basically it sums up my feelings from left to right...shocked-happy-amazed!

Welcome home

computer! I missed you! Actually i think everyone else in my life missed you more than i did. I heard a lot of this "did you get that e-mail i sent yet?" and said a lot of this, "nope sorry no computer." I'm so glad those Geeks treated you right and got you all cleaned up, wish I would have brought you there in the first place. Mostly I'm glad that I didn't loose my gazillion pics and videos of my babies.......i guess i didn't need to shed those tears. Now i will spend the next few hours surfing just because i can:)

ahhhh...happy mother's day

We went to Grandma and Grandpa's house this weekend (their other house that is). And really what more could I want for Mother's Day but a day in the sun? Daniel was so great about taking care of the kids, putting them down for naps, entertaining them at church, serving me breakfast, and oh ya as a bonus I get to come home to a shark steam mop...i know this may sound strange to some but I'm so excited! I love being a mother, esp on mother's day! Happy Mother's Day! To all the mother's in my life, but mostly my own mother whom I call nearly every day, whom I solve all the world's problems with, and giggle about the silliest things:) I love you mama!

Tea for Two... and Two for Tea

Imagine Dorris Day singing this over and over and over again in the background and with the billions of pics you're about to see (thanks to my awesome sis-in-law holly) its as if you were there at the party:) Olivia's 2nd Birthday party turned out very cute and super relaxing, as it was held on a Sunday I decided to just invite family and enjoy a peaceful tea party outdoors. No games, no party favors, I didn't even make a cake...just plenty of yummy food. The kiddos looked adorable in their dress-up clothes! Leilani even brought a splash of "Mad-hatter" to the party. It's so fun to see all the cousins playing together. Kolby being the only boy, however, made it clear from the beginning that he was a man, by mooning us all as he peed on a tree in front of my lovely set-up. His little bum was just too cute to be mad at. I only wish I'd snapped a pic. Boys are so weird. Olivia also made me giggle when she attempted to eat the candle while it was lit. She really wanted her cupcake, or as she called it, her "party". The Set-up The guests (minus the snoozing ellie) Happy Birthday Olivia! We sure love having you in our family!

Happy Birthday Little Mama

Dear Olivia- Today you turned 2! You are officially a toddler! yikes! I still think of you as a baby! Since your party isn't until tomorrow I just wanted to spoil you a little bit today. We stopped by a donut shop and you were thrilled to pick out your very own chocolate milk. So glad you take after me on that one:) As we sat there I thought how it wouldn't be long before you'd be expecting an i-pod or designer jeans or a car for a future birthday and was grateful for this stage where we can just enjoy the simple things in life. (hate to break it to you but none of the previously mentioned gifts will ever be a reality for you...sorry). Your daddy and I were just saying how you are so many things all rolled in to one. We love that you are full of spunk! You are rarely afraid to meet new people or try new things. You are sassy too which drives me crazy at times but also makes me laugh. To counter balance your sassy-pants you also are very sweet and loving and cuddly. I love it when you put your arm on my shoulder and ask if I'm ok and give me hugs and kisses. You find such entertainment in teasing your brother but are always quick to give hugs and say sorry. You are a music and dance lover! We love watching you "shake it". You could eat all day long if we let you. You are probably the messiest child I have ever seen. We are averaging about 2 baths a day and about 1 pack of wipes. But you also are such a good helper when it comes to cleaning up and you are amazing at unloading the dishwasher. We love that you are so full of life and that you're our baby girl! Happy Birthday little mama!! We love you!!!! -mom and dad
