I made it!

Today was the beginning of my first week all alone as a mother of 3. I gotta say i was pretty dang pleased with myself. Haha. Yes we moms are allowed to be impressed with ourselves esp when it happens so seldom. In all fairness, my first day all alone was actually April 26th, the Monday after i gave birth. I had a rather sleepless night, was awoken at 7am by all three children to find that all 3 had wet their beds. I washed sheets. Olivia had another potty accident and i scubbed poo. I couldn't convince kolby to come downstairs for breakfast. He threw a fit over going to preschool. He told my friend that I had hurt his feelings and made up some lie about me throwing him out the door. When Daniel got home I balled and laid down for a nap. My visiting teacher brought over dinner. Today, in contrast...started off well mostly because Naomi slept for 4 hrs and then 3hrs. Its amazing how much better this is than 2hrs. My kids didn't come get me til 7:30. We all ate breakfast together, showered and got ready, watched Dinosaur Train, and dropped kolby off for preschool. After preschool we all played at the park for a few hours. I even had enough energy for a game of tag and hide and go seek (seriously the swollen feet and big belly made me cry bc i couldn't play with my kids). We came home and finally played "school" again. We're learning about boats this week and ballerinas next week. We all layed down for an hour nap then played with my new present, Wii Fit, ate leftovers for dinner, visited the neighbors, and had family home evening. Needless to say when my neighbor gave me a hard time for not having the kids outside playing as much as grandma did when she was here i might have had some evil thoughts about her. Seriously I think its a miracle when I have a day that things actually work out and my kids aren't crying and fighting and I'm not yelling or crying and we all get dinner. So if I sound a bit prideful about today I apologize but why not celebrate the little triumphs in life?!

Spring 2010 Recitals

The Recital was supposed to be Saturday April 24th but since i had to go and have a baby we rescheduled for Saturday May 1st and Friday May 7th so that all the students could attend. I'm so proud of these guys!!!

"The HUG"

A little over a week ago i was nursing the baby and kolby and olivia came up to me and said, "Mom, we have something to show you...The HUG" Then they embraced each other and smiled:) They thought it was soo funny and I of course thought it was adorable! So glad these two have each other!

Better than Christmas

that's right i personally think that Mother's Day is better than Christmas. I get a yummy breakfast, dinner and dessert, don't have to lift a finger or settle a fight or get up early or forego a nap. Plus i get sweet cards and loving words all day. and i realize how amazing the mother's are in my life, how amazing it is to be a mother, and how blessed i am to have a hubby who makes it all possible.

"I got spoiled again"...

this is what kolby said as he walked through the door the other day holding a race car his grandma bought him. Truth is I think we're all being spoiled lately.
My mom was here last week. She brought presents for Olivia's birthday: a ballerina book, purse, dress, and doll quilt to match Naomi's. I love my mom's quilts!
Here's Naomi's quilt. (don't know why blogger wants it to be upside down)
Olivia may have borrowed it already to snooze on the couch with...isn't sharing what sisters do best?

My mom also helped make a bunch of freezer meals for when I am all alone:)

She spoiled Kolby with a Mariners baseball helmet and 2 awesome sailboats...and she put up with him beating her in Uno a lot!
And Naomi of course was spoiled with snuggles!
This week my mother-in-law is here. She has spoiled the kids with little toys they get to pick out at the store, trips to the park, and lots of playtime. She has let me sleep in til a shameful 10:00 and makes us yummy food eventhough she is on a diet and can't enjoy it herself!
Oh and how can i forget the Bluebell icecream? mmmmm. I have a feeling that next week reality will hit, i will have to make dinner and clean my own house, and we all might be a little cranky without the grandmas to pamper us but for now we're just soaking it all in:)

My Big Girl

Dear Olivia,
Today is your real birthday. You are finally 3! You've been talking about the day you'd turn 3 ever since Kolby started preschool. Thank heavens we celebrated you birthday early this year so you could have the proper attention before your sister came.
As i got you ready for church today i couldn't help but think how much you've aged in just the past few weeks.
The day we brought Naomi home you informed me that you were a big girl and would no longer sleep in your crib or wear diapers at night. We of course couldn't say no to such a determined spirit. The next night daddy was putting laundry away in your room and you told him that you didn't want anyone to come into your room. We didn't expect this attitude for at least a few more years:)
Now that you're 3:
you can spell your name (sign language)
you sing your own origional songs,
you twirl in circles in your fav dresses,
you dance to any beat,
you accessorize with purses and make-up,
you ride your big girl bike
you are a big sister
you can still beat up your big brother
and
You truly are my big girl now!
Happy Birthday "ya-ya"
love,
mom
