Puppy Party

Its official. My youngest is 2.
Its a rather odd state I find myself in...
longing to say goodbye to the diapers years
yet tearing up thinking the sweet snuggle baby years will never enter our home again.
Such is life. yes?

Back to the main event...
Naomi's Puppy Party!

This is what she did every time I asked her how old she was turning "2" haha.

The Menu:

Hot dogs, puppy chow, doggy bowls full of grapes, baked beans,
and a birthday cake covered in coco puffs (inspired by my dear friend Jess:)

The location:
the neighborhood dogpark/splashpad

The guests:
all the cousins:) and our cousins doggies-Raschenke (wow i don't know how to spell) and Kali

 The Games:

we played "Trainer says"
does anyone else find this hilarious?

If they did tricks they got treats
(Scooby Snacks)

then we had doggie relays
if the real doggies cooperated we gave them real dog biscuits

then it slowly turned into people relays in a doggie park:)

the grandparents and babies laughed at such silliness

 Present time:
I loved watching Naomi squeal over all her gifts!

 Cake time

Each of our guest went home with a monogrammed doggie dish and a Frisbee:)
all in all it was dog gone fun!!!

Make a Wish...

This is what I tell my 4 yr old everytime she picks a dandelion
which in her case, is nearly every day.
Yesterday, after waiting silently while she squinted her eyes and mouthed secrets to her flower and the magical fairies,
I asked the forbidden question...what her wish was.
"I wished that we could all listen to Mommy. and have Peace. and Odedience. and Order."

I was shocked. I felt proud and guilty all at the same time.

Of course you know what they say, if you tell what you wished for, it won't come true.

and if you know the kind of week we've been having in our house you know that I really should have let this wish stay a secret between Olivia and the pixies:)

Good Friday = Beach Day

Hubby had the day off.
Weather was sunny with a breeze.
Free pass to Galveston Island State Park.
No messes to clean up.
A little kiss from the sun on my cheeks.
Happy kids.
Now that's what I call a "Good Friday"

Loose/Lose Tooth

This is what I saw Thursday morning...

and this is what happend Thursday night....

Kolby was soooooo excited I think he almost cried for joy.
I still say its a strange thing to have piece of your body fall off not to mention having a magical fairy pay you to take it.
Coming of age.
Its an odd adventure.

Chip Chop Chip

My adorable friend Alexandra came to my house to cut our hair.
It took a few talks to convince Olivia that she was not actually "Tangled" and that she could indeed cut her hair. It just so happened that her feather fell out that morning as well. It was a tramatic hair day for her.
Of course as soon as it was cut she flaunted her new do everywhere and ate up all the comments:)

Here's Olivia before:

and after...
all grown up, but with healthy hair:)
