Lil' Obessions

Here's a few things I've been kinda obessesed with lately...

1. Deep Covered Baker (from Pampered Chef)
Remember how my oven quit? Chicken Penne, Rocky Road Brownies, Cherry Dump Cake, and Family Burrito Bake have all been on the menu this week thanks to this baby. somewheres 'round 18 minutes in the microwave and waaaahhhlaaaa! goodness in a pretty dish with all fresh ingredients.

2. Piano girlies

My girls recently decided they need to practice piano while we wait for preschool pick-up.
The piano teacher in me just melts:)

3. Downton Abbey (PBS)

Seriously in love with this series!!! Season 2 ended this month and I'm going through withdrawls!

4. Picnik.com

So sad that picnik is leaving us the end of April! I love things that hide all my mistakes. I will miss you and your froggy pics and clever phrases to capture my interest while i wait for a down load.

5. The Alchemist
This months choice for book club...I may have underlined half the book:)

Thats about it for now. Any yummy obsessions of your own?

Hey Y'all and Yeehaw

Last week was Rodeo Week at Olivia's preschool.
They dressed up and even got to visit the "farm" at the high school.
Here in Texas we believe knowing what a lasso is might be just as important as your abcs:)

True Freedom

President's Day Treat

Too bad my oven quit half way through the baking.
Ended up having to spend a few presidents myself to order a replacement baking element.
I'm certain that being able to order appliance parts on amazon.com was in our founding father's visions of what true freedom is:)
God Bless America.

Knock, knock joke of the day

If you have a little one that is obsessed with Yo Gabba Gabba like mine then you will be singing a little ditty in your head right about now...

A couple weeks ago Naomi shared this knock knock joke with us at the dinner table.
I seriously almost peed my pants. No really.
Not even 2 years old and spouting jokes.
Heaven help us.
Baby #3 is gonna give us a run for our money:)

Just in case you don't speak Naomi language...

"Knock knock....poo"
the end

As A Child of God

Here's my beautiful Olivia singing her heart out.
Love this new primary song.
Kinda makes me giggle everytime she says "child".
She's a born and raised Texan.
True Blue.
And then I may or may not get emotional when I think about the sweet message my 4 year is testifying of.
Ahhh motherhood, thanks a lot.
weep weep.

Oh Lover Boy

In honor of yesterday's holiday I'd like to post a few entertaining conversations about a certain lover boy in our house.

Kolby: I told a girl I could sing today.
Me: Really?
Kolby: Yup and then I sang to her.
Me (giggling): Really? What did you sing?
Kolby: "Cause you're amazing just the way you are!"
Me: what! then what did she do?
Kolby: she passed out

***
Kolby: I was waiting next to a girl in line today and I told her she was cute.
Me: Oh dear.
Kolby: Then she fell on the ground.

***
(at parent teacher conference)

Teacher: Kolby is quite the popular kid in class
Me: Oh good. But, I've heard that the girls are chasing him at recess and trying to kiss him.
Teacher: Yes. That's really not allowed. One mother is concerned because her daughter is allergic to peanut butter and kolby eats peanut butter sandwiches.
Me: (thinking I'll pack pb sandwhiches til Kolby's 18)

***

and this last one might embarrass me more than kolby...

Daniel: (teaching a fhe lesson) Think of something that you really really want.
Kolby: I know what mommy wants! XXXOOO from D-A-D

***

What can I say? Love is in the air:)

Here's the littlest valentine.
She ate her entire box of chocolates for breakfast. She's quick when it comes to sweets!

And my favorite valentine...
We attended a newly-wed party on Saturday which we won 1st place in (again!) yeehaw!
The theme was western. No not all Texans dress like this on a normal basis:)

Hope ya'll got lots of XOXXOs!

Happy Valentine's Day!

100th day of school

This was actually the day we left for Seattle.
Phew! glad we squeezed it in!

My kind of project.
Zero sewing, zero gluing.
All I had to do was peel the backings off 100 foam stickers and Kolby did the rest!

Congrats Kolby you've made it to 100 days of school:)
Now you just have 100s of thousands more to go:)

B-Ball with the Bulls

Last Saturday was Kolby's last basketball game.
They had such an awesome season and I gotta say when kolby scored 3 baskets in one game I was one proud mama:)
The night before the game my mom and I stayed up til 1am making these sweet pennants as awards for the players! Thanks mom!
Way to Go Kolby!
and now its time for t-ball practice:)

Sea-town

Imagine the Best of  Peter, Paul and Mary soundtrack playing, the smell of toasted Dave's Killer Bread*, and the creaminess only German chocolate can produce in your mouth and then you will really have the full scope of my trip to Seattle.

ahh...sigh.
Good stuff.

*As a side note, if you've never heard of Dave's Killer Bread you seriously haven't lived. If I didn't adore my husband I might just marry this Dave guy despite that the fact that he's an ex-con drug addict, solely for his bread. No really. Its that good. You may purchase it at Costco in Seattle.

Back to the trip...

Let's start with some rainy pictures for my dear "friends" that believe it only rains in Seattle...oh wait I don't have any pictures like that because it was gorgeous the whole time we were there:)

Ok how about some pictures of a shopping mall.
Turns out this is what the outlet mall looks like...fabulous!

We also...
played at the park,

Baked,

Colored,
(let's not mention how Naomi snuck out of her packn'play to color on the walls)
Dressed- up all matchy-matchy
(Go Seahawks!)

Ate chocolate....
(just happens to be a German Chocolate Factory down the road called Boehm's Candy. My mother's maiden name is Boehm. So it's kinda perfect, just like her.)

Played Tumblin' Monkeys
(seriously coolest game ever!)

Played in the snow
(the obvious favorite...highlight of the trip!)

Dad and I went running, in the which he and the hills kicked my trash!
Of course I choose to place part of the blame on brand new running shoes and giant blisters on both of my arches. Got a full refund for those puppies.

and then we had to say goodbye...sniff sniff

to my dad that is...my mother had the joyous task of flying home with me and kiddos.
She stayed a couple days and then went on to my sister's in Atlanta.
Thanks for the sweet trip mom and dad! Love you!!!
