Anti

Feeln a little anti lately
Anti:
Sundays- like leaving the house a disaster, rushing out the door, spending majority of the time in the hall with a crying baby, nursing, or taking kids potty, no time for naps, and a feeling of guilt that i was in no way spiritually uplifted on the Sabbath of all days. I can sense a lighting strike coming my way...
Cleaning- this is not new just esp anti cleaning all the wood floors and tile because it takes me seriously all day long and then my kids destroy it in seconds.
Teething- as much as nursing would suck...perhaps we should just be born with teeth and get it over with instead of an eternity of drooling, crankiness, and sleepless nights.
Post-baby wardrobe- nothing to wear...too cheap to buy clothes which i hope to never have to wear again after i lose all this chub...anyone wanna sign me up for What Not to Wear? Seriously i'd be an amazing canidate.

Growing up

A few funnies from my kiddos:
*
Me: "What do you wanna be when you grow-up?" Olivia: "I wanna wipe tables" Me: "Way to aim high" Kolby: " I wanna be a sports man. I will play baseball, basketball football... I also wanna be a construction guy, a doctor, and a police officer" Me:"wow that's a lot!" Kolby:"I can only do one at a time though mom! I don't want to go crazy!"
*
Me: Cooking dinner, setting the table, and changing naomi's diaper Daniel: Reading a magazine at the table Me: "Why do i have to do everything! I need you to get up and put knives on the table" Olivia: "Dad, Mom's the boss!" My kiddos must be growing up because they're so smart!:)

just for you mom

Dear mom,
I'm sorry that i don't take bottles or pacifiers. What can I say? I have good taste. Your milk is the bomb.com.

But really was the rice cereal necessary? It tastes like wood shavings.
Since you're pretty good to me I suppose i will indulge you and keep licking it for your own entertainment.
One condition though...no more letting my brother and sister feed me! They shove that spoon way too far down my throat! Only experienced spoon-feeders for me.
Please don't take too long to switch to some real food.
love,
Naomi

Lucky Duckys

We've been learning about ducks lately and singing a whole lot of "5 little ducks". Of course we had to squeeze in a trip to the duck pond. Its been soo hot here though that we had to wait until 8pm to leave the house. We got home after 9 and then bathed. It was a long night but fun.
These lucky duckys got to stay up way past their bedtime...as you can see they're thrilled.
and these lucky duckys got to have a little midnight snack of stale bread:)

"Will somebody just shoot me in the head?!"

heehee gotta love Hook
I have a nasty cold and yes i'm being a complete baby about it.
Had to take naomi to my dr. appt yesterday bc i never know how long i'll be there and since i'm her only source of food, we're kinda attached.
She ended up screaming her head off, i ended up passing out twice before i could hold her, and i left the office $800 poorer.
It was awesome.
How many hours is it till bedtime?

Me and Noah... we're like this

had our very own flood last night.
Daniel being the manly man that he is ripped out the old dishwasher. The valve in the house didn't exactly turn off everything in the house:)
here's how it went down...
Daniel: screaming at me to grab towels
Me: ending nursing (poor naomi) early
neighbor :bringing over more towels
Daniel :on the phone with Dad finds out he needs to shut the water off outside
Me :building a dam of towels to keep water from getting on my in-laws $1,500 rug
Neighbor: sucking up gallons of water with a shopvac
Daniel: digging through the mud to get to the valve outside
Me: sucking up more water
Neighbor: grabs the special tool to turn off valve outside
Daniel: finally turns water off
Me : run 3 loads of towels
Neighbor: goes home
Daniel: tosses old dishwasher out the door
Me: hand washes dinner dishes only to have all the water run out from under the sink and discover that all the wood underneath caved in. Clean out under sink. Place bucket underneath. Mop floors.
Kiddos: snoozing throughout
Please note there was no {auidible}swearing involved
(Now the colorful language going on inside my head is another story)
Towels, Dishes, Floors, and myself were all washed by midnight
New washer arrived today.
For better or for worse my Mr.fix-it-hubby is out of town so installation maybe a new story all on its own come Sunday.

I quit

...so says the dishwasher
It was time.
It was nearly as old as me.
Does that mean I can quit washing dishes too?

Hot diggity dog

Last week when my bro-in-law "accidentally" handed me a super spicy buffalo wing instead of the honey bbq as i'd requested i thought that was pretty dang hot. My lips were giving off heat for about an hour. Then yesterday we met up with Tom and Holly and took the kiddos to the zoo in 103 degree weather. I have a new apprection for the word HOT... and for AC and for $1 drinks at McDs!!!
Despite our sweaty clothes and red faces we still had fun and Olivia said "thank you for the zoo and that we could see all the animals" in her prayer last night.
p.s. disclaimer: i have a very odd sense of humor...when we stopped at McDs for drinks and icecream there was this crazy lady passed out on the table and clenching the Bible of all things. She woke up abruptly, asked an old man for his fries, explained that she couldn't buy any for herself because she was afraid they would make her eat people, then went back to sleep. I still can't help but laugh. I guess the heat can really get to some people:)

Discovering Discovery Green

Growing up in Seattle, a trip downtown was a regular occurrence. So when a friend mentioned a cool new park downtown I convinced my hubby to checkout Houston. Of course also being from Seattle it was never 101 degrees on our outings.
Like all adventures this one started out rough. Olivia poked herself in the eye and was basically blind and screaming in pain for hours. At one point all 3 kids were crying, i got to nurse the baby in a public restroom which is always awesome, and kolby thought he was gonna die bc it was soooo hot. Then i found some snow cones and all was well.
Unfortunately our family stood out like a sore thumb and a news crew interviewed me. I felt like an idiot bc i had to answer questions about how i feel about the local, state, and federal government passing an act where they all work together to stop pedophiles. Finally Naomi starting crying so we cut the interview short:)
The rest of the evening was splendid. Enjoying the art, fountains, rolling down the hills, and playing a little red-light-green-light.
We got home at 9pm and then made a ginormous breakfast feast for dinner- omelets, cinnamon rolls, and smoothies.
Thanks for a great family day Discovery Green Park!
